Primary school recommendations - Bexleyheath

Hi everyone!

We’re moving to the Bexleyheath area next month, and my daughter is currently in Year 1. We’re looking for recommendations for primary schools around Haslemere Road, Bexleyheath.

It would be really helpful if you could share your experiences and suggest schools we should consider. If there are any concerns or things we should be aware of about particular schools, please feel free to share, as this would help us decide the priority order when submitting our applications.

Closest to our home are below schools and appreciate if you have any feedback based on your experience.

1.Bursted Wood Primary School
2.Upland Primary School
3.Pelham Primary School

We’re also looking for schools that offer breakfast clubs and after-school clubs, as both would be important for us.

Finally, if anyone has experience with the in-year admission process in Bexleyheath, especially for a child moving into Year 1, I’d really appreciate any advice on how the process works and how easy it is to secure a place.

Thanks so much in advance for your help and recommendations!

If your daughter is in Y1 then there is the infant class size legislation so no more than 30 in a class.

This means that you may have to accept a place at whichever school has a place and go on the waiting lists for the school that you really want.

There is quite a lot of movement so you might be lucky and not wait too long.

St Thomas more is a brilliant school with breakfast and after school provision
