Have you looked at their latest Ofsteds?

@PhineyjWhat they say, and what they actually do aren’t necessarily the same things.

Of course but it's a starting point and they have to report on SEND.

As you no doubt know, grammar schools have small numbers of pupils with SEND so you also know that whatever the report says is based on a small number of students (whereas at a comprehensive where there are lots, an Ofsted saying SEND is well supported might still mean quite a few kids that aren't).

Does your DC have an EHCP? Do they receive any support at primary? It could be useful to speak to the schools in question and ask if they offer an extended transition. Their response could be informative.

I used to teach at a grammar (not one of these) and there was very little expertise around SEND but the generally good and calm behaviour of the other students was helpful.

Hi @MamaOf2Boys26 I'm a mama of three, and two are at DGS. Got to say that I have been very impressed with their SEND, although neither of ours formally diagnosed, they are looking after them very well. I think in grammars generally there are a lot of ND kids.

On another note about these schools - Dartford is no longer offering IB and changing from next year to A levels. It's a shame in my view. I don't know whether that is the same for Bexley, but it's driven by government cuts.

I’ve heard good things about the support at Chis and Sid for dyslexic children.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, unfortunately IB is already being lifted from the Bexley grammars owing to funding cuts.
