Would you let your child miss the last half day of school?

my sons last day of school is this Friday.
it’s a half day- he finishes 1:30.

they don’t do any breakfast clubs or afterschool clubs as it’s the last day, so I’m a bit stuck in ways I can send him to school.

has anyone’s child missed last day of school?

I feel a bit sad as I’m thinking he may have a lot of fun that day…. But I’m completely stuck.

Totally agree with this. Give yourself a break OP and keep him at home that day. Just tell school he has woken up not feeling well.

I wouldn’t think twice about keeping him off, no learning will be taking place in reception on a half day last day

@Shinyandnew1Does not really matter they announce something because it still means parents don’t have access to childcare at non standard times. They cannot just magic up new care for one day. I don’t agree with half days like this. It’s always difficult for working parents and schools should take their parent community into account.

I would let him have it off if we were travelling but not just to stay at home.

Can they not get a taxi or something. I know it’s tough but i would see if it something works and if not keep him home.

A taxi - 4 journeys? Absolutely not for a few hours. Why should the school cause this expense by removing breakfast club and early pick up? If he’s with someone at home, they can go out of the house!!!

Gosh, don’t stress about this at all. Just keep him home, it’s a couple of hours of play he’s missing, that’s all.

I would not overthink this at all and keep him off.
