DD has been invited to the UKMT Summer School. Has anyone's DC been on this? Is it solid maths tutoring/discovery for many hours each day? Do they do other things?

DD really looking forward to it but a bit anxious, not knowing what to expect.
Do thay have thier own room or shared?
Many thanks for any information.

DD had a great time. She shared a room, but only with one other girl and they had their own en suite (although I think there is variety depending on the accommodation they had available to them).

It was a mixture of fun stuff and 'learning.' DD discovered there were people better than her at maths, which was a good thing. She did it two years ago and is still in touch with people she met.

DD is quite shy, has ASD and had just dropped out of school when she went so we weren't sure how she would get on but she had a blast.

Oh, and to add basically everyone there is in the same boat no-one knows each other so they are all starting from scratch. I think DD wouldn't have gone if she had thought people were already in cliques, but they absolutely weren't. They did a talent show one night that caused much hilarity.

You'll get a timetable soon showing all the things they will be doing, too, IIRC

Thanks so much! I have since found some more info online.... looks like it'll be a good week although I'm not looking forward to the drive up!
