Dojo - are you happy with how your school uses it? Do you resent using it?

I'm chatting to various parents and lots of them are not happy with how it is used and are starting to resent the app.

Anyone else feel this, or are you happy with how your school uses it?

I find it easy to use. It’s like Instagram.

It's great. Just used as a communication tool really. I have 2 much older DC where things like Dojo didn't exist and I was constantly forgetting stuff, the reminders on Dojo make it hard to miss things even for me.

Plus I like seeing when DS gets points throughout the day

Our LA allows it for classroom use but not for communicating with parents.

How are they not happy? It's used for behaviour points in school and to communicate information to the whole school/classes. Some schools also use it to send direct messages to parents both individually and as a whole class or school I really can't see how it could be that contentious?

What I am hearing is that parents are expected to use it to communicate with the teacher on there and the teacher doesn't check it. Sometimes a teacher will start a conversation on there and not reply. Someone else in the thread said their LA doesn't allow it for use in communicating with parents. I wonder why that LA decided that? Based on the feedback I've heard it's a very good idea and I think more local authorities should consider it.

@Ledsal our LA banned it for privacy issues as its security wasn't guaranteed.
