11+ online practice — what's everyone using these days?

Asking on behalf of a friend whose DD is starting prep — my own DS did 11+ a few years back so I’m a bit out of date.

What are parents actually using for online practice in 2026? Anyone tried Pretest Plus, CENTURY, Bond Online, Exam Papers Plus, Academy11? Or sticking to CGP books and free past papers?

Keen for honest takes — the good, the bad, and the “we paid £££ and DD hated it.”

Atom v good but v expensive, bond books good, i buy a lot of second hand mock paper books also. We have a tutor but have switched to ace11plus over atom for online practice as its the same thing but much cheaper

We are using Academy11. Not very expansive just £9.99 per month and gives free creative writing studio access.

Make absolutely sure you’re prepping for the right test.

What do you mean?

ace11plus - someone has already mentioned but will reiterate as its really helped my daughter - she was struggling and now outperforming the other kids in her tutoring group! https://www.ace11plus.org/

A question is though how much creative writing is going to help crack the 11+ exam

Onzely · 23/05/2026 17:25

I'm just about to close a beta test on a new site - www.onzely.co.uk for this exact question. I found what was available to either be horrifically expensive, or not adaptive to children's needs.

I'd love some live testers if you DM me, and I can send through a beta code for free access.

It tries to cover all major topics, including the NVR work which can be the hardest to learn, as well as giving access beyond just a parent dashboard, but being able to link to your tutor so they can see progress, and work through questions with your child.

It can be done with and without tutors, but I think tutors are a key part of the ecosystem for children in this situation.

Atom. That’s also the system used by a number of the London boys days schools as their first line assessment (which seems a massive conflict of interest to me…)

I've recently been trying out curiolearners.com for creative writing. It's only £5.99 per month and has been great for regular writing practice and feedback. They also provide marking from tutors as well if you get the premium
