Please could someone help me on this question. Which is the odd one out? The answer is E but I don't understand why it couldn't be A.

Because the pattern moves round clockwise not at random

This is a "next in sequence" question, not an odd one out. As the previous poster says, you need to look at the order in which elements are removed. First the right bar, then the lower right diagonal, then the bottom bar, then the bottom right dot. Logically, the next element to remove is the bottom left diagonal, hence E is next in sequence.

Look at the pattern. From the left by the number 38 - one bar removed on the “out” (by 3pm on a clock face) - then “in” - then “out” (by 6pm on the clock face) - then “in”
(in a clockwork rotation).

A makes no sense due to the rotation as you are too far ahead of yourself still need the triangle at the top. Need to work the pattern / sequence out.

The lines are being taken away in a clockwise motion and that in the second to last picture you see half of the square gone and since we’re going clockwise the next one should be the connection between the inner circle and the bottom left meaning that e is the answer.
