London Nautical School - Maritime Pathway 6th Form

Anyone any experience of this? Either the Maritime studies or the Sailing and watersports Btec with Al levels? Considering it for DS2 currently in year 10, He is a Sea Cadet and has done all the sailing basics and been on three offshores. He really wants to make his career at sea but not RN (possibly MN). The school website is not very informative and I know the Ofsteds aren't great but the maritime stuff looks like a unique offering.

My DS is doing a different pathway there, with 2 A levels and a BTEC. The school seems quite caring, although communication is a bit hit and miss. The maritime course does seem to be unique though, I don't know of any other schools doing anything similar.
I agree the prospectus and website are very hard to navigate! The application process is also a bit awkward, they have a portal on their website that you need to keep checking once you've applied in case they've asked for any documents etc. Engagement generally in 6th form isn't very high from what I've seen, but the teachers my son has seem pretty competent.

Thanks very much @TheFuturesSoBright when you say engagement isn't very high do you mean the pupils? As in disruptive behaviour or just low effort. Any feedback really appreciated.

Yes, the pupils. My DS is constantly reporting (and joining in, I suspect) low level disruptive behaviour in class. Having said that, he is doing some options that I think people do because they don't require high grades e.g. Sociology (apologies, sociologists!)
Some kids do work hard though, the teachers were keen to tell us about them at parents evening, several who started off not very interested but went on to do very well. The teachers seemed very caring,I thought. We've been through several schools and there are definitely worse ones out there!
