Hi,

Look for advice on prep for 11+ exams. Did anyone find yellow birds courses helpful for prepping for the top London day schools. Any reccomdations would be helpful.

If you’re free tomorrow at around 1pm in Notting Hill, the tutor who runs my daughter’s weekend classes is holding an event about the 11+ exams. She will be giving information and advice, and some of her former students who are now at top schools will be there to share their experiences.
It could be very helpful if you’re looking for guidance.

We looked at quite a few courses when our twins started Year 4 and honestly found the biggest difference wasn’t necessarily the specific company, but how consistently they practised between sessions.
We do still use a tutor once a week, but what helped most was combining that with a website we found that gives regular timed practice at home, especially for maths/comprehension/VR. The thing my two responded to best was actually getting proper explanations after each question and seeing weaker topics flagged automatically, because it stopped them just repeating the same mistakes over and over.
I’d also say not to get too focused on one provider this early on. Building strong reasoning and exam technique steadily over time seems more important than trying to “cram” specific schools.
