Any other parents drowning in school messages? 😅
Genuine question for the group…
This morning I had THREE different apps pinging me — one from my son's primary, one from my daughter's secondary, and a ParentPay reminder buried in an email I almost deleted.
I missed a trip deadline last term because the date was in paragraph 4 of a 6-paragraph school email. My son was devastated.
I've been thinking about building a simple app that does one thing: you paste in any school email and it automatically pulls out the deadlines, dates and "action needed" items into one clean "This Week" list — across all your kids, all their schools, in one place.
Before I spend time building it, I genuinely want to know if this would actually help people.
Quick question: Would you pay £2.99/month (less than a coffee) for something like this?
👍 YES — I need this in my life
😐 Maybe — depends what it does
👎 No — I manage fine already
Would love honest answers — even the no's help! 🙏

Wouldn't it be easier to ask the school to give shorter more direct communications?

Project73 · 12/02/2026 21:05

That would be in an ideal world. We all know that's not the case.

I think if I’m copying and pasting the emails anyway I could just paste into chatgpt and ask if to pull all the dates out and it would do it for free

I can’t see myself using that but I’m pretty good at staying on top of school comms, even with three kids. I think a lot of people who miss things often don’t even open the emails or read the WhatsApp messages (as a pta person this is what many have told me). Given that they will be a large part of your target audience will they shift to starting to open stuff and then copying and pasting it and putting it in your app? Also, a lot of the labour is processing the info, not just reading it. Putting dates and reminders in your diary, filling in forms etc. would your app help do that? Sorry if that sounds negative though, the intention behind your idea is amazing!

@Project73Google school daily. The app already exists.
