Looking at schools for my 7year old son , probably for year 4 .
We both are doctors working fulltime and he is in before and after school clubs most days .
I am not sure if he is interested in sports as we havent introduced much sports for him yet . He is growing a bit shy this year and i feel gets very little attention at his current school . His teachers seems to be happy with him and his academics . I am trying to choose between bedford modern or bedford prep for him - can i get some honest opinions and advices about which could suit him better in this scenario ? I am intending to have an allround development and a holistic approach .
Any valuable advices will be greatly appreciated !

We are a full time working family (both parents) with 3 boys and looked at both schools for my eldest (now in year 6). He is very academic, but we weren't sure about sport as he was coming from a state primary that offered very little of it. Both schools are excellent and we liked them both, but the reasons we decided on BMS for my eldest and the reasons we continue to decide (still deciding for his younger brothers) are, he didn't want an all boys school - he was coming from a coed environment and had girl friends too so wanted to maintain that. The school really gets the balance of sports and academics right and he's thriving at both! There's lots of sport, as well as arts and academic clubs, there is something on every day, multiple times per day! But the kids still thrive academically. The school really caters for working parents, and there are a lot of professional families there, I felt Bedford Boys was a bit too "old money" for us (I might be wrong, but that was my overall impression) and we wanted the kids to have a more down to earth experience, which has been the case. BMS is deeply organised, considers working parents and really makes the whole school seem to run like a well oiled machine. So far we are very happy at BMS and will aim to send the other two there, our slight concern is our second child is not as academic as his older brother and we wonder how he will cope with the pace, so we may revisit Bedford Boys again... good luck with your decision, but with these two schools I'd say you can't go too far wrong;-)

If you are after a really child centred approach with good academics and kids who might be his tribe, then it might be worth looking at St Chris school in Letchworth. The school has a school bus route to Bedford and there are lots of after school clubs.
