The Hall NW3 or KAS

My son has been offered places at both The Hall NW3 and King Alfreds for reception start. The schools are so very different, I am really struggling to decide. My son is bright, creative, full of physical energy, and currently not the best at conforming/listening (but he's only four). My concern with The Hall is that it might be too pushy/competitive/academic/boundaried for him, and my concern with KAS is that it might not be pushy/competitive/academic/boundaried enough! Which way to go, when you want to cater for/calm/honour a slightly wild spirit. I would absolutely love any advice, or to hear others experiences of the schools. Thank you.

Firstly, well done on two amazing offers! It's such a stressful time isn't it! I can only speak on The Hall from my personal experience - although, we do know a family with a boy at KAS- they are a very arty family and it suits them.
From our time at The Hall (and with a lot of our friends still with boys there) we found the whole community to be super supportive. It is not anywhere near as rigid as people seem to think. Of course, it is academic, so the school (and parents!) really want the boys to do well, but we didn't come across the sharp elbows that people seem to worry about. The staff there are SO kind- your boy is an individual and you'll be really looked after (we have a quirky one so found this out ourselves!) I also think the school has changed a lot in recent years- it's much more arty/musical and creative than we ever expected it to be, so there really is room for everyone- and you're pretty much guaranteed good results along the way. Maybe ask to speak with both schools again for reassurance- I'm sure they will be happy to advise. Good luck!🎓
