My daughter was recently suspended from college, she is being bullied, when interviewed today the investigation was done all in house, they lied about several things and blamed my kid, she attempted suicide due to bullying last week and they didn't give a toss, any advice please

How would the investigation be done any other way than ‘in house’? They will have taken statements from other students, staff who may have witnessed, CCTV If available.
if you are not happy with the outcome then they should have an appeal process

Never send her back and get help for her mental health.

I don't want her to go back, but she does xx

You need to separate the issues.

What was the suspension for? Deal with that and work with the college and support your DD to learn from it.

Seperately, seek out the pastoral lead or her tutor to talk about the bullying. It'll be better if your DD seeks them out herself, but totally get that can be hard when they're adults but not real adults. They want to sort it themselves but still need help.

Third issue, suicide attempt. Did she attend hospital? What did they do/recommend? They should have directed you to some talking therapys for your DD to access. It might be worth a GP visit to discuss too. College also need to be aware.

They can never find CCTV she has given them 101 screenshots ,she is being hounded by bullies

Paganmam · 27/01/2026 20:59

Has anybody got anywhere with the board of education

The college will have a complaints process, you must go through that first.

Hepzibar · 27/01/2026 21:15

It will be on their website

Buscake · 27/01/2026 21:16

Try speaking to inclusion at the LA if they cover her age range. You could also try your local sendiass to see what they can advise

sittingonabeach · 27/01/2026 21:21

Governor panel?

You need to go and question the evidence

As in the DfE? No, you need to follow the college complaints policy (it'll be on the college website). DfE don't deal with individual schools/colleges like that.

I think you mean the governing body?

SixSevens · 27/01/2026 21:53

What was the suspension for OP?

How do you know the others are lying?

Paganmam · 27/01/2026 22:15

They refused to show us any evidence

The suspension was for her friend posting on social sticking up for her, because they had had enough, she allegedly shouted at a staff member ,when the staff member actually shouted at her.

OP posts:
Paganmam · 27/01/2026 22:24

We know they are lying because they all fell out with her, she was told she was threatening to them putting them in a corner, she is incapable of this kids talk, one girl stayed off for effect to make my girl look bad, another screams in her face every,so they just snapped and put nasty things on socials hence her suspension.

I've just contacted citizens advice bureau for assistance, thanks for the responses x x

So, to be clear, you believe your daughter to be 100% innocent? And there are tens of people conspiring against her? Wasting their time and throwing away their careers as they do so?

LIZS · 28/01/2026 15:03

Why would your dd be suspended for something her friend posted on sm?

SixSevens · 28/01/2026 18:13

Yes, I’m thinking you don’t know the whole story here OP…
