Hi, if anyone has children attending WUS or SPJS, could you please share your experiences? We’ve received offers from both schools for 7+ and would really appreciate any insights to help us decide. Thank you!

Both are academically rigorous schools that would suit precocious children who liked being challenged. Both schools get excellent results at GCSE/A-Levels and a high percentage into Oxbridge/HYPSM. From what I've heard, at secondary school level, St Paul's is a bit more 'mathsy' whereas Westminster students are more well rounded on average. (Please correct me if I'm wrong on this).

The real questions to consider are -

Do you want a co-ed school as WUS will be going co-ed soon or a same-sex school in the case on SPJS.

Commute to and from school. Don't want to spend more than 30-40 minutes door to door ideally.

Price. There is now a substantial difference in price especially between Westminster School and St Paul's. While cost to attend WUS and SPJS are somewhat similar, the real difference starts in Y9. It's almost 50K at Westminster vs 36K at St Pauls. This doesn't even include optional extras such as music, clubs and trips.

Fit - End of the day, it's about knowing your own child and visiting each school to get a sense of which school is a better fit for your child.

There's some luck involved here and no right answer. Both are great schools and you won't be considerably wrong either way.

We ultimately chose SPJS, but it was not an easy decision.
