my dd 9 is being bullied at school. it has now progressed to her being pushed by one particular girl in a gang and i am terrified. There is so much in the news these days about girls being violent at school where knives get involved etc.

My daughter told me last week its been going on for months and i was so upset to think that she has been keeping this to herself.

I phoned the school yesterday, spoke to the form tutor who assures me that she will speak to dd and the other girl. My dd has told me some of the things this girl and her friends have said to her and it really is awful. I feel helpless because i dont really have much faith in the school to really sort it out so it stops.

have you asked about the school's bullying policy ? for your dd,it's a truly horrible thing...girls at that age can be very unkind

yes thanks, have the policy and i intend to follow it to the letter. girls of ALL ages can be unkind in my opinion but some 9 year olds today think and act like they are flipping 16!

I have a ds but help out in school and have seen some nastiness and know of friends dds being bullied..
ds is a quiet, bookish non sporty boy and was teased nastily in yr 5 which I found heartbreaking... really hope you can sort it out xx
