School reunion - most interesting

Have just been very brave and attended my first ever school reunion. 20 years on

And my point is ......?

There was a good cross section of the "in-crowd", the "out-crowd", the "brain-boxes", the "athletes", the "musicians", the "odd-balls" etc etc etc. And 20 years on, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference. No-one could remember any of that stuff that seemed so important at the time and everyone pretty much turned out OK.

I guess anyone that totally screwed up probably wasn't there, but it was still a thought-provoking experience in terms of not getting too het up about some of the things that seem so important while your child is at school.

I went to a reunion last year and really enjoyed it. It was 25 years on and there was more than one grandmother there!

I was pretty useless at remembering names but it was great to see how little people had changed over the years.

On the whole people seemed to be enjoying life. After all, school isn't the be all and end all and the world would be a pretty sad place if schooldays really were the happiest of your life.
