I’m looking for some text books or resources to help my son in year 6 prepare for SATs. Struggling to understand the grammatical terms in particular. It’s all very different to when I was a kid.

Teacher here- would really recommend the CGP revision books. There is a study guide for the Grammar which will really help you with that

My son's school gives each of the yr 6 kids a set of CGP books to work in.

I'd also recommend BBC bitesize and ANTON for some free online support.

You can get all the past papers and answer booklets online for free if you have a printer you can just print them off. Also with the past papers you see how the questions are set out and how they are worded.

I would agree that the CGP books are good, and also BBC Bitesize is useful. You can download past papers but check that your child’s school isn’t using them for practice, and the actual test papers don’t teach you the content.
