Latin beginners to GCSE

My DD is doing GCSEs this year and is interested in doing ancient history or Classics at Uni. She is expecting good grades and likes her MFL. She'd like to learn some Latin from home either online or with a tutor or a mix of both. Not set in doing a GCSE but something with at least a certificate would be good. The Cambridge course looks OK but the website isn't great and it's hard to see what you get. Any suggestions?

I'm doing Latin online with citylit. We're mostly older though. Oxford university dept of continuing education also offer it. Not sure you can get a qualification with either of those though.

I’m pretty sure there are OU (Open University) courses online, a couple of which are free, that lead to a participation certificate or higher certification. Let me check or do have a look online - I no longer work for the OU and things change year on year.

There's this. The problem with a lot of online courses is that she'll need to be 18 or older, assuming that she is taking GCSEs at the normal age of 15/16.

The Joint Association of Classics Teachers (JACT) run super summer schools for Latin, Greek and classical studies. They also used to contain a session about applying to classics at university as part of the summer school, as that was why most people were attending.

Years ago, I attended the Greek one as a beginner for 1 week and then the following school year I self studied and in summer sat the exam.
