Does your LA use Egress for EHCPs? Does it work?

I have massive problems with Egress.

It's impossible to read and edit a big document on a phone. Often I haven't been able to even get access. It's hugely inconvenient and unwieldy.

Now I have been told a request for change of setting made in December by my child's current setting wasn't sent for consultation until May, by Egress, but 'due to some technical errors' was resent in July.

Potential new setting said 'can't meet needs' based on information years out of date and current setting and I were informed on the last day of the summer term.

More information is gradually emerging one thing being the last review was never finalised.

If this system is being used in your area what's your experience from either parent or school perspective?

Egress is an encryption system.

I would argue you can't edit any large document successfully on a phone no matter what was used to email it to you.

You're entitled to ask for a paper copy, which would be more use to make notes from if you don't have a laptop or a PC.

I don't think egress is really the problem here, it's that no one processed the annual review and requested change of setting in a timely manner.

I'd make a complaint but I wouldn't make egress the focus of it!

I asked our LA to send me Pdf documents because Egress is a third party.
Egress regularly delete emails, which often seems quite beneficial for the LA. As soon as I receive something sent through Egress, I down load it.
Apparently the SENCO at my children's Primary school requested more funding for my child's EHCP but couldn't provide me with her request for this " due to Egress deleting emails". I requested her argument for more funding as we were in appeal and it would have been useful evidence, but she never provided it.

I dislike Egress. Although I like Microsoft Purview even less. We don’t use them for DSs. Email is sufficient. My LA argued email isn’t secure. My response to that I included it is sufficient for SENDIST so it is sufficient for other communication and I pointed out the LA use Royal Mail which isn’t secure (although that is used less now than when I pointed it out).

I have asked for paper copies but they are not readily forthcoming...
I think I will get them eventually.
Current setting has mentioned about emails being deleted after a fortnight.
