In preparing DD & DS for school what should I call the number 0, should it be zero, naught or 'o' - what do they call it in Reception?

It's zero usually.

Zero. Start them of from Zero at the beginning unless the school are using a silly number scheme.

I've been wondering this as ds1 (3.10) has learned 'zero' from his nursery but a friend of his says 'naught' from going to a different nursery.

Zero here!

As a teacher who has taught in Nursery and Reception classes I have also reenforced the word Zero. Saying nought is confusing as the child will often have to learn zero in Reception and further along the school.
