Canford Heath First school

Hamworthy Firs School

Stanley Green First School

Sylvan First School

Turlin Moor First School (due to become a combined school from September)

Hillbourne school & Nursery

St Josephs RC VA combined school

Manorside Combined school

I have already had negative feedback about St Joseph's so reluctantly have scrubbed it as it is the only catholic school.

ok, as soon as I can, I will start looking for houses then for you.

there will be somewhere perfect for you, that I am sure of, we just need an angel to direct you to it.

twinsetandpearls · 03/06/2008 21:35

I can see things at about 225K we would need to knock them down by about 20K. My house is going for about 10% less that we had hoped but I don't know if even in this market we could hope for 10% less.

Have you looked at Westmoors? House prices there are lower than Wimbourne IIRC - travelling time to Poole about the same from Wimbourne poss less

BigBadMouse · 03/06/2008 21:40

sorry...wimbourne wimborne

Psychomum5 · 03/06/2008 21:41

yeah but altho westmoors is nice, I am not sure they will go on to the grammer, and twinset is hoping for grammer if at all possible.

ButterflyBessie · 03/06/2008 21:43

It's Wimborne not Wimbourne - there is no u in it.

(I used to live there)

ButterflyBessie · 03/06/2008 21:45

Sorry BBM cross post

Although to be an absolute pedant it is Wimborne Minster , refers to the town not just the Minster

twinsetandpearls · 03/06/2008 21:50

Dp seems to think we can afford somewhere in Wimborne but we will have to go down to 2 bedrooms and loose some space.

Dh went to stanley green/oakdale too - He thought it was a good school, but the facilities were old & run down. That was circa 40 years ago though, so expect things have changed.

snorris · 03/06/2008 21:58

I can't help you with the schools but have you considered Corfe Mullen for houses? It is between Wimborne and Poole and the schools are good if a space becomes available. A selection of houses (the 4th one down is next door to where I used to live ).

BigBadMouse · 03/06/2008 21:59

butterflybessie I never get that far, hover just outside in Colehill. At least I got Westmoors right (I think )

ingles2 · 03/06/2008 22:07

I went to Parkstone Grammar...
from what I remember there were quite a lot of girls from Hamworthy. But this is a long time ago.
I went to Baden Powell which is now merged with St Peters I think.
How about buying somewhere in Upper Parkstone between Ashley Road and Bournemouth Road? Is that still affordable?

ButterflyBessie · 03/06/2008 22:09

Don't worry I am not a pedant, just when it comes to the spelling of Wimborne , lots of people get it wrong, including journos, obviously a very difficult name to spell

ButterflyBessie · 03/06/2008 22:10

ingles2 I went to PGS too, when were you there?

ingles2 · 03/06/2008 22:12

Oh God I knew it was a bad idea to write that....
I left in '87

twinsetandpearls · 03/06/2008 22:19

You link takes me to the right move homepage snorris

OP posts:
ButterflyBessie · 03/06/2008 22:19

It's ok, cos you won't have a clue who I am, but I left there in 87 too

twinsetandpearls · 03/06/2008 22:20

You would hope so after 40 years snorkle!

OP posts:
snorris · 03/06/2008 22:22

Oh. I did link it directly-must be the website. Anyway I searched on houses in Corfe Mullen up to 230k (doesn't have 225 ).

ingles2 · 03/06/2008 22:23

But do you know who I am?

ButterflyBessie · 03/06/2008 22:27

Nope, but I was only there for one year, it wasn't that memorable

I remember some of the lads from Poole Grammar though

twinsetandpearls · 03/06/2008 22:27

Someone else said Corfe Mullen, would that still be in the catchment for St Catherines?

OP posts:
snorris · 03/06/2008 22:29

Sorry don't know

twinsetandpearls · 03/06/2008 22:31
