It’s so frustrating with this coursework remark issue. Why are they doing this!

So, I just contacted the private test centre because I’m getting really frustrated at this point and I asked them what’s been going on with my remark (since I sent off a priority review of marking on 15th August) and almost a month later, I haven’t heard back from them.

The operator said that they are still waiting for the outcome but I just don’t believe that as I’ve never heard of someone paying for a priority review of marking and getting and still not getting an outcome so long after. What is going on? Are they likely to be lying to cover up their mistakes?

When I confronted her about the time and how unusual it is, she just said that it’s due to the “volume” of review requests which is understandable, but this is taking so long when it’s supposed to be done in 15 days.

Also, with the coursework issue, they keep saying they’ll look into it. They said now that they’ll flag my application, but why haven’t they done anything over the last month that I’ve been contacting them?

I feel like they are trying to cover up their mistakes.

And, no, I don’t care about my university choices at the moment - all I care about is getting the grades that I deserve and I don’t know what to do because they aren’t being cooperative by ignoring emails and taking hours to respond to phone calls.

Tbh I doubt you are going to get an answer you are happy with any time soon . A priority remark is normally returned by end August and if it were the coursework resubmission (and external moderation) that is a different issue altogether. Private exam centres are not as interested in individuals as schools who publish results in league tables and are government funded. Does it have a Complaints policy? Have you followed the internal process before contacting exam board.

And you do need to separate this from your uni place. If it comes good in time great but you have a place that you can and need to move on to, learn fresh things and meet new people. Any residual issues from A levels will pale over time if you do so.

Why are you requesting any remarks? My understanding is that you got a stats all round other than the coursework element not being counted at all. That’s not a remark issue.

Because I’m worried that the coursework issue may not be resolved properly and just in case I want to try to get as many marks as I possibly can in case I could push it up a grade.

But your history mark might also go down.

If you literally got zero for the coursework then unless that issue can be resolved- it seems unlikely that squeezing another mark or two out of your other papers would take you to an A. IIRC you got very high marks on those papers.
