Hello everyone,
My daughter is currently in Year 5, and we are considering applying to The Latymer School. I would really appreciate it if anyone could share their experiences with the application process. Do you also have any advice or tips on how I can best support my daughter in preparing for the entrance exams? Many thanks!

Check when the open day is on the school website. Application to sit the exam comes very quickly after that I think. The actual exam dates are before Y6 starts.
There are loads of tuition centres that will offer group sessions or individual. I don't have any recommendations. Various places will also offer practice exams at the school, which are pricey but sitting 1 or 2 might help familiarise your child with the experience - though the actual exam day is far busier.
Don't make it your only decent choice, there is a lot of competition and most kids will do well wherever they go.
If they are grade 5 standard on musical instrument or FSM then there may be a lower exam threshold.

Actually, you have to be in catchment by an earlier cut-off than that - usually by a date in the first week in January - to be considered for a place on national offer day.

@KuanJung you really must consult the school's admissions policy for the correct year of entry; the policy for 2027 entry must be published by early March 2026, but in the event that the school is planning changes to the policy, it must publish a consultation document for a period of six weeks between October 1st of this year and 31st January 2026, so start looking on the school's website from early next month.
