Interested in views on this school. Seems to be on the up with the new head.

Daughter is musical, loves performing. Not particularly sporty, but keen to take part.

She is currently in Year 3. Would love an all through school.

Are you ultimately looking at day or boarding? If day, you need to really consider the senior fees. Prep are broadly comparable to the local day schools but the senior school is a different level to all the day schools. You’d have to really love it to pay another £15k-£20k a year over and above the day fees for the other local schools.

Hi OP - I’ve got two at Cranleigh, one at the prep and one at the senior school. It’s a true all rounder and has great facilities for performing arts, amongst all the other facilities you would expect from an out of town prep school. Both mine are very happy there.

New head at the senior is v impressive and parents are really happy with the changes she is making. Have seen less of the new prep head, so can’t make any judgement on him yet.

The comment above on fees is true (and a long standing major gripe for current parents) BUT a new fee structure is being introduced for next academic year. A new day model for the senior is starting, with hours and fees far closer to competing day schools. Flexi-boarding (called ‘Day Plus’) and weekly boarding options will also be included. Details are on the website.

Thank you for responding.

Yes we are aware of the fees (in our experience you get a lot for those fees), and we like the look of the day plus model that they are introducing. Happy with the flexi-boarding idea, best of both worlds for the kids in my view!

That's great to hear that you like the school and the new head is impressive.

Strong pastoral care is a must. Kind kids too
