Looking for Advice on Starting Home Schooling

Hey! Hope everyone is okay!

So, I've just started home schooling my 12 year old son, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed! I'd love any tips, advice or resources for getting started, especially for keeping it simple (child led in some way). my son is very interested in farming at the moment, so id like to include that for our learning, obviously I know we have to do English, Maths, Science (core subjects), I have work books for that to maybe start us off while we find our feet with it all. so can it literally be anything, from workbooks to life skills? I sound like I haven't done my research. I'd just really really like some advice if possible.

if anyone has experience with KS3 home schooling, or has any favourite resources, books, or activities, I'd really appreciate the help.

Thanks :)

There is a Home Ed board on here so maybe ask for this thread to be moved there? And I am sure there are some threads already there that could provide some help.

Are you an educator yourself? Or are you going to use tutors for specialised subjects? HE at secondary level is perhaps more challenging in that students are usually working towards GCSEs. I have worked as a tutor with a number of HE students (not pitching myself to you don’t worry!) and many of them have tutors in various subjects such as maths, English, MFL, science. Obvs if you have expertise in some areas then happy days.
