A question about the LNAT

My DD needs to book her LNAT slot, and bookings open tomorrow. She has told me this afternoon that it costs £75 (I had no idea we had to pay!), but there is a bursary. She qualifies for it and we've just applied, but you have to get the voucher before booking the test, and there is a wait of up to 10 days to get it.

Before I knew about the cost and bursary, we were going to do the booking asap, although for a slot later in the autumn, but now she's anxious about waiting to hear about the voucher. So my question is, does anyone have any idea how long it normally takes before most of the test slots are booked up? She thinks it might depend on area. I really don't want to spend the £75 if I can avoid it, but of course want DD to get a reasonable date and time.

Help!

I don’t know about where you are and whether that makes a difference but my students don’t normally book it until a few weeks into the term in September and they’ve never had a problem getting a slot.

We're in the south / south-east. That's good to know, thanks!

I’m in the south west. It may be that there are fewer students taking the LNAT here than in more populous areas. But even so, my experience (considerable) of the age group involved, even the LNAT types, is that most of them won’t be booking it yet.

Well incredibly, the voucher came through the next day, so DD has booked and we're both relieved.
