Surrey schools

Can anyone recommend a Surrey prep school for 2 girls - one in reception and one in year 1 please?

We are moving to the Oxshott area but have heard that some schools are quite celeb heavy - we don’t want this kind of vibe if we can avoid it.

Any recommendations welcomed - we would probably prefer single sex but we would consider co-ed if the school was a good fit. Don’t mind a short commute. It would be good to have sports activities after school based at school.

TIA

Wow, you have so much choice. The "minor celeb" heavy school is Danes Hill, it will be nearest and has the best facilities.
Otherwise you have
Feltonfleet
Claremont Fan
Milbourne Lodge
Rowan
Surbiton Prep
Notre Dame Cobham - pre prep is small

I would start with Danes Hill and Claremont Fan and then visit Rowan in Claygate for a contrast. Plus also Surbiton Prep if you don't mind an urban setting or Milbourne Lodge for a setting with lots of space.

I've heard great things about Manor House in Bookham.

Rowan is good although tiny. Lovely head. They have to go in a mini bus to the sports field / swimming. As it’s a prep seems to be better at 11 plus eg lots trying for ghs / leh / Surbiton etc.

CFC has nicer surroundings however not sure if they prep for 11 plus or they are hoping everyone stays on for senior. It was always regarded as the bottom level entrance / back up school. Check out the ratio of girls : boys.

Feltonfleet never been however it’s too close to the A3 to consider / pollution (I know that’s a weird thought I have)

Depends if you want easier access via the prep school to the senior schools or not.

We recently accepted a place at Rowan Prep. I can't give any feedback on the school just yet (as DD has not yet started) but we got the impression from our visits that the school was very nurturing, as well as academic. You should definitely arrange a visit.
From what you've described I don't think Danes Hill would suit you.

Thank you all so much! I’m going to work through the schools listed 🙏🏻
