Opinions of Wandsworth secondary schools?
I’m looking at co-ed or boys’ schools where the behaviour is good enough to enable a very curious boy to do well in his studies, but where the school culture is relaxed enough to allow for his endless questions!
The pastoral care also needs to be great: his teachers & tutor say that he is exceptionally bright & usually confident (when he thinks he knows what to do) but that he becomes anxious when he finds work more than usually challenging. His tutor thinks his anxiety might stem from being used to finding things easy in primary school.
I want him to be challenged, but he will need a teaching culture that is sensitive enough to recognise his anxieties & help him to recognise that there is value in grappling with a topic that might take a while to understand.
