Falkner House Nursery

Dear Parents,

I’m considering enrolling my child in Falkner House Nursery and would greatly appreciate insights from families who have gone through the process. My main question is: Does attending the Nursery (3 hours/day) help with securing a Reception place at Falkner House?

Some specific concerns I have:

1. While the Nursery is part of Falkner House, I understand Reception admission is via 4+ assessment. For those who attended the Nursery, did you feel it gave your child an advantage in the assessment

1. With only 3 hours daily, do children receive enough preparation for the Reception curriculum or assessments?

3.I heard the nursery as "traditional and structured, strict." Did your child enjoy their time there?

My child didn’t enjoy the school. The teaching style is quite strict and highly controlled — it’s essentially the opposite of Montessori

I would run a country mile from a structured strict nursery.
