ASC or childminder?

Asking for a reception age child. The pros of the ASC is that it's cheaper (16.5 per day while the childminder is 27 per day) and it's a bit closer to us.

The childminder seems to be lovely and she will have a max of 12 kids, but most of them will be younger than the reception age.

Which one is better?

What categories are you using to decide 'better?

Surely better is whatever one you prefer for you child. The one anyone else would choose for their child will have different requirements and preferences.

Childminder might be advantageous if they also do care over the holidays if you need it.

Otherwise I’d go for ASC due to the not insignificant price difference. It’ll add up over the years!

Is it for five days a week? And is the ASC on the school premises? I guess I think going from school to the childminder to home again is quite a lot.

Twelve children is also a lot!

After school club.
If the childminder is ill- that’s a day lost.

The price is a big difference too.

I think you’ll have to consider where they are based and what activities there are and if it is going to benefit your child , and of course price is a factor too!
