Northern Ireland parents, transfer test question

Hi,
We're in Northern Ireland and hope our DD will take the transfer test to go to a Grammar school. Can someone explain how the age adjustment works for younger for year children?

I’m not sure that SEAG have explicitly said how it works, but my understanding (based on what DS’ teacher said, and on how I’ve seen it work in other contexts) is that (on a very basic level) they will compare your child’s mark to the marks of other children their age, and work out their score based on that.

i think with the old 11+ it was a more basic “Add half a mark for every month they’re born after July” or something along those lines, but I don’t think that’s how it works now.

I may well be wrong, though, because no one I’ve asked seems to know for sure!
