Just after a little advice and thinking aloud so please bear with me.
I currently home ed our children and we are very happy doing so but they have decided they want to go to the private school that I went too as soon as circumstances allow. Thing is when I went it was 20 mins up the road on the school coach and now we're a good 6/7 hours away so they'd have to board or we'd need to move or something like. I'm happy for them to go when the time is right but a little tiny niggle is suggesting exploring options closer to here. If anyone has any experience or knowledge of decent schools closer to the Cambs/Norfolk/Lincs border area, say within an hour, which aren't tested for entry- I mean in a if you don't pass you don't go sort of test- then I'd appreciate any replies. The local secondaries aren't the most wonderful places and our decision to remove them from primary school was partly based on the local secondary choices. Call me a snob if you wish lol, I know I am

Check out the 'Good Schools Guide'. Either the book or website www.goodschoolsguide.co.uk. This shows schools by area and deals with entry requirements etc. Its descriptions are pretty accurate.
