Oxbridge admission table

Please note that the data are extracted from pdf files published by Cambridge and Oxford, where the Oxford files are very messy and so are error-prone.

Well there’s no surprise there is there - select the brightest, educate them with their cohort and they get into Oxbridge! Bloody hell it’s not rocket science!

What those stats don’t show is the socio economic area of those schools and of the children. How many were tutored etc. Although we all can work it out I think.

What people won’t see is how the 20% VAT on private schools will impact even more who gets into these schools. It also doesn’t show the absolute travesty of the children from lower socio economic backgrounds in poorer areas who never get a chance.

Yes, only certain state schools. We are all sold a lie.

My DCs sixth form college is on there. It’s good but not super exclusive or anything. I don’t really understand the figures as it’s a massive college with over 2000 a level kids.

It would be interesting to see stats for intake from private vs grammar vs comp for the past say 20 years. Oxbridge have been criticised in the past for taking too many from private schools, this has obviously shifted however has it just been a shift to taking more from grammar?
