Just looking for some feedback for Harrow School - my child has a place for 2026. Also have a place for Winchester and can't decide on which one to go for. Preference is for Harrow at the moment - needs pros and cons for both to make a decision!
Thank you in advance.

Harrow educated Laurence Fox. Winchester educated Rishi Sunak. I think the Foxes should ask for a refund.

Have you visited them?

as above, have you visited the schools? Has your prep advised which one they think your DS is a better fit for? To my mind, knowing boys well at both, they are very different schools and produce different kinds of boys. Your DS will likely suit one or the other?

In my experience:

Winchester tends towards slightly quirky boys who love learning and want to immerse themselves in lots of new opportunities for clubs. The coolest kids at Winchester are probably the ones who excel in one of Latin/Chemistry/Humanities/name a subject.

Harrow tends towards more prep school A team football/rugby all rounder lads who are bright but perhaps need a push towards picking up a book for pleasure. The coolest kids at Harrow are probably the 1st team sports boys.

Both are obviously excellent schools offering a great all round education and boarding experience. Lots of traditions at both too.
