Online A-Levels - any experience?

Is there anyone out there whose DC (or themselves) have done A-Levels via an online-only college? There seem to be a myriad of online colleges with a huge range of prices and I would expect the quality also varies massively but I have no idea how to assess the quality. Do you have any recommendations or advice for how to choose?

DC would be doing just one A-Level at a time, combining it with a separate non-A-Level programme of activity. Particular subjects of interest are Philosophy, Psychology, Classical Civilisation but others might also be considered.

I havent actually used this but I remember doing some research on my son's behalf (in the end he went back to school for sixth form) and I noticed this problem; there were some dodgy companies with loads of good reviews and a five star rating but when you looked closely at reviews you realised most were "planted". The few authentic reviews said the service of these other dodgy companies was appalling.

The link I've posted seems much more reputable - I think they are linked to the Open University, are a charity, and cost seems in line with what it would cost to run a course.
