Which of the above schools would you recommend?

What is there about the post to be considered reasonable or unreasonable about?

Sorry I'm new hear so I didn't understand about the reasonable/ unreasonable option

I wanted to see what people think of Heath House, I am none the wiser?!

Maybe start a new thread in Education/private just asking about Heath House. Better still find a FB group for the area where the school is (Blackheath?) and ask on their which is the best school. Good luck.

Blackheath Prep. Best facilities and green space, sports, amazing music provision. It’s not just all academics. Good route into Eltham college if you want it but dc well prepared for other secondaries including grammars.

all three schools will prepare your child well for 11+ but blackheath prep you get all the extra curriculars and things like science lab. Both my DC discovered their (non academic) talents there and it’s stood them in good stead for many years. Both of them comment now how lucky they were to go there.

they’re all competitive entry though - albeit BHP is essentially an IQ test of your child, the other two schools are more holistic and meet the parents. Have you got your name on all three waiting lists ?

@ZealousZeal I'll DM you to protect my childs privacy in a public forum but in summary it is a phenomenal school and really made sure they went beyond to meet his potential, which many schools do not. Also, they run around a lot on the heath and do swimming, football on Saturdays etc. so that was also not a concern

My grandson began attending last October. He's learned more there in 8 months than my partner and I learned in 22 years between us at State School. (We're constantly having to google the grammar!) Thankfully there are three boys there that he knew - especially as he did not start until the Autumn half term. He was devastated to be leaving Brindishe Lee and still misses children from there. As LMK says: they run around on the Heath, swim, go to the Velodrome (in Dulwich?), rock climbing at Woolwich. I feel that walking up to the Heath is a grown up way to conduct oneself and is quite like real life. Not everything is served to one on a plate. He's learned so much academically. Socially the school involves parents and grandparents in school days, performances (two public performances in the 8 months he's been there - both at Greenwich Theatre and Blackheath Conservatoire). All? members of staff took part in the BC production - producing brave, funny, athletic and musical performances. He took part in a triathlon - alongside Alex Yee. There is a Grandparents' Tea which was delightful. We attended - and took part in his sports day - with Strawberries & Cream - again on Blackheath. It had music, fun and laughter. I saw from the newsletter that grandparents & parents go into the school to speak with children about their work. (I'm going to go in 2027 to speak about working in construction). I love the figures of speech, his manners and confidence since joining HH. They are met at the door in the morning - and shake hands before going up to their classroom. My only reservation is that the school has large plate glass windows - being a relatively modern building rather than a Victorian pile - and got very hot in the 2026 heatwave (where didn't?). Heath House say they will be getting air con - so fingers crossed. On another 'note' there was a wonderful boy in his class who's just won a music scholarship to St Paul's and will be joining them as a boarder next term in Year 7.
