VAT - anecdotal impacts

I see another thread saying there is no increase in movement to state since the VAT change.

It's purely anecdotal but in my son's private school a third of the year 6 children are going to state schools (half of these to selective grammars). Historically it's been pretty much zero.

I was wondering what the experience is of others progressing into secondary from private primary.

This isn't a political thread - just interesting to hear if our school is an outlier.

At our school 2/3rds of the girls left at end of year 6. This was more than usual. The real change was that almost all of them have gone to state schools. Many girls in current year 7 are on waiting list to state secondary school in local town. Several boys also left for state at end of year 6 but I don’t know the numbers.
