I need to know for something to do with my work - too trivial to bore you with. What do they do at about age 10??? I have no idea at all.

....long division?
....basic probability?

I have only seen a couple of numeracy lessons at year 5 as a parent helper, but they were doing division of 3 digit numbers by 2 digit numbers at the more able end - not using the traditional long division method though. Last week they were working through a problem involving getting adults and children across a river in a boat, finding the rules and eventually a formula for any number of adults to cross. Properties of 3-d shapes they were covering as well.

These are the government standards site targets for Year 5.
