Work experience yr 10

Hi there, I’m a mum of twin boys who are looking for work experience placements from July 7th to 10th. One is interested in office work, while the other is eager to work in a school or care home. If anyone can help with finding placements, I would really appreciate it!

My DD did hers in her old primary school, it's worth reaching out to them. I know a couple of her friends also went back to their old primary schools but to do a placement with the admin staff.

With your help write a list of at least 20 places each would be interested in.
Then draft an email that can be tailored to each individual business.
Then methodically go through and send emails (found from websites), maybe starting with favourites / easiest to get to. If they are outgoing they could take the initative and call in in person as well.

I am in year 10 at XXX school. I am looking for work experience for 7th-10th of July. I'm currently think I will study XXX at college / like to work in XXXX sector, so doing experience with you could be very helpful to me.

I get good reports for behaviour and attendance at school and I would very much appreciate a chance to see what a real work place is like.

Don’t the school help with this sort of thing? Ours has access to a database of companies who will accept WEX students (plenty of schools and admin). If not then I would approach old primary school and then any mates you have where they can go to an office. Realistically most work places do not want Y10’s so it helps if you can do it through contacts if not the school
