My baby is born in October 2023, and preschools start from September
so I’m not sure if I can apply for preschool next year as she’ll just be shy by 1 month or wait for the whole year?
I tried reading the policy in NI sites but I can’t understand

My kids are in their teens so some of this might have changed.

Your child will be turning 3 in October which makes her too young for nursery school/play school by 3+ months as age ranges in NI start from July. This means that the youngest child 'eligible' to start that year of nursery will have had turned 3 at the end of June (it actually might be the 1st July).

However, you can still apply for a place. I got my youngest into nursery school a year early and he did nursery twice. He had just turned 3 at the end of July. It depends on places though and I gather most nursery schools in Belfast are oversubscribed?
