Second child bursary- any experience?

I'd love some advice from anyone who has been in a similar position.

My son (Year 8) attends a private school on a bursary, and my parents currently loan us the remaining fees. My daughter is at their pre-prep and is due to start the main school in September. We fund her nursery fees with 15 hours from funding.

I am wondering if anyone has had experience with a second child also being awarded a bursary? Would the school expect us to send her to a local school instead?

If the school does not offer a bursary for prep but we choose to fund her place with a loan from my parents, would they accept this, or would they require us to contribute more towards my son's fees instead?

I would like to speak to the bursar about this, but I also want to be cautious as I do not want to risk my son's place or his bursary. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

You really need to speak to the bursar. It may be that bursaries are not available for younger pupils, siblings, new entries, etc, etc.

I suspect it would be frowned upon that you could find the money for a second child when you needed a bursary for a first.
