Grade 8 Music Theory Exam

My son is interested in taking the Grade 8 Music Theory Exam. Could you recommend any courses or teachers? Thank you.

Not done G8 theory, but DD wanted some very specific theory help with music composition (unrelated to anything at school level) and I used SuperProf to find the right person.

She'd done G5 before and I'd booked her on a course that was a really bad fit. The tutor didn't get her at all and frankly was a waste of money and time.

With the site we used, you can read their profile, read reviews and then contact them. Most offer a free trial lesson and you pay them privately not through the site.

You can pay for 1 month to access the site and contact as many tutors as you like.

For music theory there was masses of choice and at all levels - everything from Oxbridge classical violinists with a million degrees, to rock and roll guitarists who get how to teach theory to people who hate learning theory! I was very happy with DD's tutor and he was very patient (she's SEN and some things that seem obvious she take forever to get and other things that are extremely complicated just click instantly) and nice. It was also a lot more reasonable price wise than blooming maths...
