Oldfield School Maidenhead

Hello, my daughter recently moved in with me from the Midlands to Maidenhead. (I moved in July 2024, little one was still staying in the Midlands with ex). We got her a space in Cookham Rise (Reception) as there were no spaces available at the closest schools since July 2024 until late Jan 2025 - Oldfield, Braywick (both 0.3 miles away). She has been going there for the last 2 weeks and she does like it there, this morning got the offer letter from Oldfield, the school I was hoping for her to get in the first place.
I know Oldfield has a better reputation, is closer (Cookham Rise takes me a good 35 mins round trip every time) but am skeptical to now move her again to Oldfield. Any reviews about Oldfield primary which would make it simpler for me to make this decision? A lot of friends have mentioned she should be fine and will adjust very quickly but not unsure on what to do.

Cookham Rise is a fabulous school with a brilliant head. I used to work with the school in a professional capacity.

@TheOptimistic I’d recommend joining the Maidenhead Gossip Girls group on Facebook, and posting there - I’m sure there will be lots of people willing to share their opinion with you (I can’t claim how accurate it will be! But it will be local opinions at least)

Does the school have a lot of pupils applying for university in the Republic of Ireland? A lot of the universities there require a (third) language as well as E English, and Irish for locally-educated applicants.
