What are postgraduate certificates worth?

Hi everyone,

I'm 27, turning 28, and I would like to go back to uni to finish my studies as an older student.

If I were to apply for a job with a postgraduate certificate in computer science, would it be worth anything or am I best continuing towards a full masters degree?

The first one is significantly more affordable and will give me more time to study towards it.

I don't have a bachelors degree, I dropped out before I finished and regret it, but I managed to get back in as I have some experience working as a freelance programmer.

It's worth a third of a Masters. You could get a loan for a full Masters, but not for a PGcert. However without a degree you're unlikely to be offered a Masters.

Whether it's worth it career wise I can't comment.
