Kent college Canterbury

My daughter starts secondary school in September and we are considering Kent college Canterbury. I would like to hear from parents or guardians please. My daughter is quite the all rounder, doing well in academics, as well as co curricular activities, and we just want to be sure we are making the right decision. I have heard that Kent college focuses mainly on hockey for sports. Is that the case? How about pastoral care and community within the school?

We have a son and daughter currently at Kent College and we are really happy with it. Our children are very different, our son is academic, whilst our daughter is more creative and also has dyslexia. Both children are thriving and have massively grown in confidence in their time there. The pastoral support has been outstanding, concerns are addressed immediately and the staff really get to know the pupils. The co curricular provision is extensive, a definite strength of the school - as is the very flexible timetabling and degree of subject choice at GCSE. Our children are not at all sporty, but the sports provision is very inclusive and my son now enjoys football and badminton, whilst my daughter is happily doing yoga. It is a sporty school and strong on hockey, also cricket, but as far as I know not to the exclusion of other sports.
