Relocating to Somerset

Help please! A new job at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton means that I need to relocate with my 2 children (aged 10 and 13). I really do not know the area at all. Can anyone can give some helpful advice with regards to nice places to live that fall into good school catchment areas. I will be renting, thanks to an ongoing divorce. 😊

For easy access to Musgrove, and to be in the catchment for the best state secondary (Castle), look at Galmington, Comeytrowe and Trull. Definitely the more expensive parts of town though.

Bishop Fox's school is also supposed to be very good, and probably a slightly more affordable catchment although not very easy access to the hospital.

Some lovely villages surrounding Taunton, but be careful of finding yourself in the catchment for Pyrland Academy - it's got a terrible reputation.

If it's private school you're after, there are three in Taunton alone so you're spoilt for choice!

Greenrailings thank you so much for the information. Not private school - not earning enough on the NHS for that! I will focus on looking for a rental for the catchment for Castle/Bishop Fox. Cross fingers
