Hi ladies, we are planning to move from India to Harrow on the hill area. My daughter is 12 year old and we will have to go for in year admission. The only 2 schools which seems not to be oversubscribed or less oversubscribed are HARROW HIGH SCHOOL & ROOKS HEATH SCHOOL.

any suggestions on these schools. Wondering why Harrow high school is not oversubscribed.

I am not familiar with Harrow High School but from what I have heard about it, I don't think it is a great school.

I have heard Whitmore High and Pinner High are better.

You can check the ofsted reports online for the inspections and also the school websites for their exam results. It might be worth checking if there's any reviews online too.

Very multicultural area. Harrow high have their own security but I'm not sure if that's protection of staff or pupil on pupil behaviour.

Rooks heath looks lovely and is meant to be good though

Have you looked into hatch end high or nower hill high?

@mumbruh I have looked at other excellent schools in harrow but my problem is that most of them are over subscribed and getting in year admission in those schools might be difficult. Any thoughts

Nower Hill, Whitmore or Pinner High are the best schools in the area Claremont is ok. Bentley wood is good girls school. Park High used to be good but not so much anymore. Avoid hatch end worst in borough. Jubilee and Harrow High And Rooks Heath are also bad. To have a chance to get into the good schools you need to be 400m away as they are oversubscribed. Good luck.

Harrow has some great schools, so call Harrow council & ask about the in yr waitlists and go with which ever one is at the lowest and gives your child the best chance of admittance.

As it’s based on locality, try and get a place as close as possible to at least one of the schools that has the shorter waitlist.

Whitmore & Pinner High are the better schools and the ones you mentioned are the worst-hence having available places! Any school where you can avoid your child needing to use Harrow Bus Station will be a huge bonus!

In regards, to Harrow High School-don’t confuse that with the famous Harrow School! They’re two very different schools!
