Parents evening and childcare

I work part time, I am wondering as this is the second one round and have informed them of my circumstances due to childcare I can only stay till half 5 instead of 6. I have been told to try and arrange someone to collect but I am the sole caregiver. Where do I stand with this?

I’m not sure what you mean: I don’t believe schools have any legal obligation to make parents evening available at times to suit every parent.

If you can’t attend, you can inform them and ask if it would be possible to meet or speak to the teacher at another time.

Can you collect and bring back to school to do your classes parents evening?

I think OP is the teacher and is expected to stay until 6 but has no childcare so can’t.

do you have a friend who could have your child for an hour or so? If not you’ll have to just tell them you can’t make it and offer to have appointments on another day perhaps. Or over teams later that evening? Might suit some parents better anyway?

@modgepodge ah thank you I totally misunderstood!

Our school has 4 appointments online
Which you could suggest? Or ask some parents if you can meet before school or on another day?
