A.I. use for GCSE

We have 3 children, daughter 26, son 15, son 12. Daughter went to grammar school (Watford) and the education was "not great", she runs her own business and is independent, she puts her abilities more down to life experience than school.

Both sons are in school.

We are thinking of home schooling our 15 year old this coming year for his GCSE which he takes in May 2026. By using A.I., specifically Claude.

Anyone else considered this or has experience of this.

(We are well aware of the social impact, we have home schooled our children for a few years few years back).

My question is narrow focused on A.I.

I wouldn’t. Despite all the claims to the contrary AI is not changing the face of education in my subject any time soon. I teach English Literature. And it’s often wrong or appears to say a lot without saying anything.
If I was home schooling I would use one of the digital online schools instead, supplemented with some home school group sessions (there’s a relatively large community locally).

I would also add though, that for many reasons in our area it’s more common to decide to home school for primary. For secondary it’s sometimes down while waiting for a place or for SEN reasons.
