I am suspecting that my son might be dyslexic based on my background in healthcare.
From initial check i am seeing 400-850 for this

pls does anyone know any company which is more affordable but confident and acceptable to the required standard.
remote if possible but can attend physically if needed.

Use the PATOSS assessors local to you, rather than going through a company (make sure you tick the 'only show tutors who hold an APC box'- this means they are qualified to conduct the assessment and any results are valid). Assessments on the whole are cheaper than going through the companies.

I know quite a few dyslexia assessors. They are all female teachers who have invested time and money into taking an extra qualification which provides them with an extra income that they can fit around their jobs and families. They know what the going rate is. They’re lovely women and really do care about their clients but they’re not going to sell their expertise cheap.

The only way to avoid the going rate of private assessments is for the school to refer to an educational psychologist.
